You should protect yourself from Florida’s sun while playing in the water or working on your tan, even on cloudy days. In addition to swim wear, be sure to bring sunblock or buy some at the park.
Keep things simple and portable, especially when traveling with kids. The last thing you want to do is juggle personal items around and feel weighed down. Streamline your necessities for a smoother day.
Bring water, buy water or ask for free water and ice in a cup at any of the quick-service restaurants and eateries for your family. With all the excitement, someone might forget to stay adequately hydrated.
It is best to steer your kids away from experiences where you know they will not meet the height requirements, even if it is just half an inch. Safety comes first, and Cast Members will not budge on height requirements.
This is Florida. Chances are it might rain. But seeing as you are already at a water park, you probably are not concerned with getting wet. Still, heed any warnings about leaving the water should they be made.
It is smart to make time for breaks to avoid exhaustion or meltdowns. Everyone will feel refreshed by heading back to the hotel for an afternoon nap or cool dip in the pool.
Before you make a splash, secure your valuables by renting a convenient locker that can be used throughout the day.
You will never run out of unforgettable, memory-making adventures at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort.
At DISNEY'S TYPHOON LAGOON Water Park at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort, legend tells of a whirlwind storm. Hurling surfboards into palm trees, propelling small boats onto rooftops, and impaling a shrimp boat to the top of volcanic Mount Mayday, the tempest finally calmed and left behind a tropical paradise where you will experience peaceful bliss and pulse-pounding adventure alike.
The action begins with the park’s raft rides, which include solo runs at Keelhaul Falls and the extra-intense Mayday Falls. Or, grab a partner for the two-person Crush ‘n’ Gusher, a 400-foot “water coaster.”
The whole gang can enjoy a four-person journey on Gang Plank Falls or Miss Adventure Falls — one of the longest rides at any Disney water park. Not that you need a raft to have a fast time here. Storm Slides offer three ways to zip downhill in a hurry, and Humunga Kowabunga will send you flying 214 feet down at a 60-degree angle … in the dark.
Kids won’t be left out of the fun, either, thanks to Ketchakiddee Creek — featuring aquatic activities for little ones — and Bay Slides’ pint-sized runs. The latter feed into a shallow, secluded corner of DISNEY'S TYPHOON LAGOON’s Surf Pool, where parents can enjoy 6-foot swells in the deeper section. And the whole family can take a relaxing journey around the park on the 2,000-foot-long Castaway Creek.
